BOIL ADVISORY RESCINDED

The Boil Water Notice affecting all City of Elkhart water customers has been rescinded. The following is the legal notice.
BOIL WATER RESCIND NOTICE
On May 12, 2025, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system, City of Elkhart, PWS ID TX 0010005, to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN) to inform our customers that water from our system must be boiled before consumption due to the presence of contaminants or an interruption in service, water from our system must be boiled before consumption.
Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality. It has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of May 14, 2025.

BOIL WATER NOTICE
ELKHART, TEXAS-THE CITY OF ELKHART IS ISSUING A BOIL WATER NOTICE FOR ALL RESIDENTS ON THE CITY OF ELKHART’S WATER SERVICE.
The following is the legal notice.
PUBLIC NOTICE TO BOIL WATER:
Due to the equipment failure at the well site resulting in the loss of pressure, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required out water system City of Elkhart, PWS TX0010005, to notify customers in the affected area of the need to boil their water prior to consumption. This precautionary act ensures the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes. Water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from other suitable sources.
When boiling the water is no longer necessary, the water system official will notify you that it is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
