LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The City of Elkhart is a Type A form of government, which is strictly governed by the statutes established through the State of Texas. The Mayor and City Council work together for the citizens of our community. As leaders, they are committed to protecting the assets of the City of Elkhart by encouraging residents and businesses to become integral participants in our community.
MEETINGS
The City invites members of the community to participate in City Council meetings, which occur every first Monday of the month at 6PM. The fourth Monday of each month is reserved for additional meetings and/or workshops, should the same become nececessary. Agendas for those meetings are posted no later than 6PM on the preceding Friday. All Council meeting notices are displayed in the glass box located outside of City Hall in accordance with the rules and regulations outlined by the State through the Open Meetings Act. Agendas are also accessible on this website.

Unopposed May 2, 2020 Election Cancelled
Next General Election for Mayor and Places 2 and 4 to the Elkhart City Council will take place on May 1, 2021.
City of Elkhart General Election May 2, 2020
The City of Elkhart will hold a General Election for Council Places 1, 3, 4 and 5 on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
Election Filing Period
The deadline for filing is Friday, February 14, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
